For the past 6 years, Sonotheque has presented both locally and globally some of the most adventurous and cutting-edge artists currently working within the modern club dance scene. With its state-of-the-art Funktion One sound system (the first in the U.S.); Sonotheque has given these artists/performers a musical environment that showcases their immense and varying talents within an acoustically vibrant space.

Starting out originally as a listening lounge presenting music that most local clubs shied away from, Sonotheque expanded on its mission by complimenting the local music talent with artists from all the corners of the globe. Forgoing the cult of the VIP; Sonotheque's policy was always one of inclussiveness without any enforced dress code and an environment that was open to one and all.

Merkaba:

Since the late 1990's, Merkaba has been performing live visuals, accompanying noted national and international musicians and DJ's including Apparat, Akufen, Alexander Robotnik, Fareed Haque, John Herndon, Matthew Dear, Peanut Butter Wolf, Savage Aural Hotbed, Telefon Tel Aviv, Traxx, and others. Merkaba has performed all over Chicago at venues including the Museum of Contemporary Art, Sonotheque, Sound Bar, Metro, as well as at the Detroit Electronic Music Festival (Underground Stage).

Recent excursions into theatrical video design have been staged at the Victory Gardens Theater, Oak Park Village Players Theater, and the Chopin Theater. In 2005 Merkaba was invited to become an Associate with innovative Chicago theatre group Collaboraction, and have continued to work with them on both events and theater, including their Jeff Awards recommended production of Guinea Pig Solo and their celebrated Sketchbook series.
